Class Schedule Fall 2019

Class Schedule for Fall Term 2019. Fall Term will begin on October 1 and end on December 12, 2019.

Navajo and Tapestry classes are full with a wait list. There are some openings in the Beginning Tapestry 3 day workshops and the Spinning Workshops. 

Navajo style weaving and Tapestry. Tuesday and Thursday. 10am-3pm. $170 plus materials. Class fee is for one day a week.  Students can come twice a week if they wish to use the second day as studio time. Tapestry and Navajo style weaving class is full with a wait list.





Audrey Moore and Kevynne Layne teach Navajo style weaving and Terry Olson teaches Tapestry. Each student works on his/her individual project at his/her own speed, learning new techniques, learning how to use the tools and materials required, and how to choose and make designs. Please note that Terry Olson will only be teaching on Tuesdays. Thursday may be used as studio time.

New Workshops in Tapestry! 

To get you started learning tapestry, we designed a 3-day, small, semi-private workshop for beginners.

January 18-20, 2020 Janet Dorow instructs.

3-day, small, semi-private tapestry workshops for beginners. $270. a $70 deposit is required to hold your space.

This fee includes 3 days of instruction, a 12″x 18″ copper pipe loom to keep, warp, and use of tools.  Weft is available for purchase in class and in shoppe, as are bobbins and extra warp.

Spinning Workshops, Saturday,  October 26 and November 9, 2019.

Each day costs $40 plus $5 materials fee.  10am to 3pm. A $20 deposit is required with your registration. Dianne Langtry is the instructor. Dianne teaches beginners how to spin and teaches spinners how to improve their technique.  Bring your own wheel or borrow one of ours. Email for more info or to register.

Beginning Ravenstail Twining, 4-day workshop. October 25-28

10am to 3pm. $200 plus $45 materials.  Free loom plans or you can order a loom for $95.  A $50 deposit is required to reserve a place in class.



John Beard’s 4-day workshop for beginning students. Students will weave a two-sided, 3-inch square Medicine bag by using 4 or 5 of the basic twining techniques used in Ravenstail weaving. This workshop includes some history and culture about this style of weaving.

Students will need to borrow, make, or purchase a 3-foot-wide, table-top Ravenstail loom. Free plans are available. Looms can be ordered directly from Mike Langtry for $95 at or at 503 758 9884.

Class is $50, plus $5 for dyestuff/handout, plus $3 each for one-ounce skeins of wool. Class begins at 9am and usually ends around 4pm. Limit four (4) maximum students. (If you want to bring your own wool yarn, you must discuss with instructor PRIOR to day of class.)

In this one-day workshop with Sandy Kennard, learn how to use Acid Dyes for beautiful and colorful results with your wool yarn.  You will get hands-on experience mixing different primaries to achieve specific and unique colors of yarn.

Participants will learn to use ProChemical Washfast Acid Dyes.  This class of dye is known for good light-fastness, wash-fastness, ease of use, and rich colors.  We will cover the process from beginning to end: wool preparation, mixing dyes, and developing your own color “recipes”.
